Update

We're just plugging along here. With things at the motel starting to slow down with the season change, we're finally getting some time to breathe. My sister Ginelle just started working for us for a couple hours each day after school and on Saturday mornings. It has been nice to spend a little time away, even if it's nothing special. We enjoyed breakfast out yesterday which was fun for us. Then Ginelle worked for us last night so we could go to a ward potluck. It was only the third ward activity we have attended together in the 10+ months that we have lived here. We had a good time and were grateful for the chance to go.
Selah sure is growing fast. Everyone keeps saying that her pictures make her look like she's three. It must be all that hair. She's walking really well now and does laps around the house carrying her toys from room to room. She loves all of her stuffed animals and just recently discovered the Buzz Lightyear and Jessie dolls from our wedding. The first time she played with Buzz, I asked; "Selah, who's that?" Without hesitation she answered; "Daddy!" Don't worry, I got it on video the next day.
Selah has also been saying people's names. One of her favorite things to do is look at the pictures on our screensaver and ask "Who's that?" as it changes, or say the name if she can. Her favorite is of course "Daddy," but now she's saying, "Emmy," "Nel," for my sisters, and "Maladee," or some other attempt when we point out Malorie in pictures. She also says Grandpa, though I can't pronounce it her way and is working on Grandma. It's fun to watch and help her learn.
Jared's calling has been a great blessing to us. We are getting to know more people and feeling more involed at church. I know that he will make a lot of good happen. It has also helped us to see that this is where we need to be right now. I have still been doing the Relief Society Newsletter, though it's not my calling, and just got called to be the Activity Days Leader. I'm really excited to get to know the girls in the ward and to help them work towards their 'Faith in God' goals.

Well, there's a little update for you. Feel free to share your comments, and if you decide to create your own blog, please share so we can put a link on ours.

Hi Jes,
Thanks for the update. I enjoyed your talk and I'm sure it was even better had I been there in person. I'm so excited to see Selah this weekend. So sorry you can't come also, but it might be a nice break for you, huh? Well, give my son and my grand-daughter a kiss for me. (Get her working on the Grandma word more!)
Love you guys.
Laura
