Colors and Sentences

I'm pretty sure Selah is a genius. She really likes to color and has been learning the names of colors because I always tell her what color I'm giving her. She would hold up the yellow crayon and say green or hold the brown and say blue. She has gotten really good at saying blue, green, yellow, orange and purple. But now she knows green and orange when she sees them, and and as of this morning, she knows purple too. She had three crayons and could tell me every time which was the green, which was purple, which was orange, and if I just held up one she would tell me the correct color. Pretty amazing I think.

She's also been using sentences lately. When you say I love you, she says I love you too (it's more like "I la la too"). She's saying things like; I want to go, I want yogurt, and just stringing words together when she had been using a single word to tell us something. She's also really good a mimicking and repeats us all the time. Last night she kept saying Jared after she heard me say it, then she would say Jared, Daddy. And there was this crazy dog around when they were in the car yesterday and Jared told Selah to say Bring it on doggy, and she said it perfectly. It's fun to teach her to say new things and just help her understand things more each day. I think there's a new word that she says that I can't understand every day too. Like tiger, she got a new Baby Einstein movie and there's a tiger puppet in it. At first she called him a lion, but I told her he was a tiger, then the next day she was saying Einstein, tiger and it took me forever to figure out that she was saying tiger. The same night I was singing to her and when I would finish she kept saying purple, but I couldn't understand her, then she said yellow and I realized that she wanted me to sing Little Purple Pansies again ("Little purple pansies touched with yellow gold..."). Now she asks for that song all the time.

It's so much fun to watch her grow and help her learn. We love our little tinker bell!
