What Works for You?

I'm trying to get back to a scheduled life. We haven't really had a schedule since we lived in Idaho, and especially since Hyrum was born. I'm feeling the need to add structure to our days so that we all don't go crazy!

So I was wondering....what do you do? How do you structure your days with kids? How do you spend quality time with them? How do you get time with your spouse? What do you do about YOU time? Is there something specific that is crucial to your day going well, or is it a lot of things put together? Also, do you use a reward system? Feel free to share your wishes for the way you want things to be.

This is my big goal for this week and I hope to be on a schedule by the end of next week.

I use the flylady system at Flylady.com.

I have a morning and bedtime routine. My morning routine is:
Wake up!
Read scriptures and pray
Make the Bed
Get dressed, fix my hair/makeup
Wipe down the bathroom
Start my laundry
Make breakfast & eat
Check my dinner plans
Get Hannah ready.

My bedtime routine is:
Check calendar for tomorrows events
What's for dinner tomorrow?
Charge my phone
Pick-up
Repack diaper bag
Make sure kitchen is clean
Put Hannah to bed
Then my bedtime things.

I try to do these every day, and it make the day easier. I find that I have more time to do things if I can get the basics done each morning and night.

Every day I have something specific that I need to do.

Monday - Errands
Tuesday - Clean
Wednesday - Work at our print shop
Thursday - Meal plan and buy groceries for the week
Friday - Fun day
Saturday - Family day
Sunday - Church/Rest day

Quality spouse time is mostly after Hannanh goes to bed. Then we can talk without being interrupted every 2 minutes. As for me time... I don't get much of that right now :) I think I spend too much time on the computer some days, so I guess that is me time :)

Hey Jess, I'm going to email you with what works for me. It's to much to write in the comment box.

Jes, you read my mind. I've been thinking that same thing. I need to have a schedule too. Now that I'm not working (but hopefully soon will be) I feel like I get sucked into the tv/internet trap too much. Let me know if you get any good suggestions.
