Changes

Wow...a lot has been going on lately. If I could, I would make about 10 posts right now, but I've spent too long catching up on friends' blogs and now I don't have much time to catch up on my own. I'll give you the highlights and try to add more later....hopefully tomorrow.

We moved! We now live exactly one mile away in a townhouse we are renting. We love it! We were able to stay in the ward and found a great deal on this 3 bed, 2 1/2 bath 2 story townhouse. We have a 1 car garage and a small patio area. There is nice green grass and pretty plants in front and throughout the neighborhood. I love the big trees that give us shade from the desert sun. We are mostly unpacked (we moved in on 4/28) and just have some organizing and decorating to do. We are also looking for a toddler or twin sized bed for Selah, a kid's desk, a queen bed for Jared's brother Codi, who will then give his futon to Travis, who will be living with us here. We need dressers for Jared and I and for Hyrum and we also need to get some lights, lamps or fixtures with fans. Oh, and a filing cabinet and some storage containers would be nice. Of course I use the term "need" loosely, we don't really need anything, we are blessed with so much. We got a great deal on a dining room set at a yard sale over the weekend and also paid $5 for a coffee table, then got a better one with matching end table from someone in the ward. For now we're using the $5 one in the kids' room, but if we find a desk, I think we'll get rid of it. We will eventually need some more chairs, but 4 came with the awesome table we got and Laura was kind enough to let us take a bunch of stuff from them including a couple of chairs. I also would like a high chair and double stroller if I can find them for next to nothing. We haven't taken any pictures to show off our new pad, but we will once all the decorating is done. Oh, and be excited for me because I have a sewing table!!! I am excited about not having to put everything away when I'm trying to work on a project. I'm also excited to teach myself how to sew better.

Anyway, we do receive answers to our prayers. I'm grateful for my life, trials and all.

Also, we're dealing with some medical stuff with Hyrum. Nothing to worry over, it's probably just an allergy to his formula. I wish I could scan and post his ex rays to show what the doctor told me. Basically his stomach is 4 x bigger than it should be because it is filled with so much air. Weird huh? Yeah. I finally have an explanation for all the vomiting and I was right that even when he burps, there's still more air in there. I had no idea how much though. He is such a happy baby, it amazes me because I'm sure that can't be comfortable. Anyway, I'm trying to get rid of the air with a teaspoon of olive oil once a day and I switched formulas again in an effort to get rid of the allergen. I'm having to visit doctors more often than I prefer, just because of the hassle with paperwork and dragging two kids around with me. Plus, Jared and I have appointments next week as well. Soon Jared will have to have surgery for his hernia which adds a little more craziness into the mix. I am just grateful that none of this is really serious or life-threatening. I have to look at it as a reminder of all we are blessed with. Relative health is better than being in a hospital bed.

Okay, gotta go. More to come!

My friend got a high chair from IKEA that she loves because she wanted something that wasn't too wide and was easy to wipe down. It's not adjustable, but she knew that buying it and still loves it. It's only $18.99. That's a little more than nothing but not that much more if you have to buy a new high chair ...
