Stephanie and Her Mom

I know I'm revealing some pretty strange stuff about my child, and you may start to wonder about her parents, but this is just something that needs to be remembered. Selah, who will be 3 in two weeks, has been playing a lot of imagination games lately. She talks with her stuffed animals (and she helps them talk back). She sometimes seems to have imaginary friends or pretends that characters from a show she likes are visiting us ("Don't sit there, that's Dora's seat!"). But I'm positive that this takes the cake. Are you ready for it? This crazy little girl has named her hands. Her right hand is Stephanie, and her left is Stephanie's mom. Yeah, it's pretty weird, but pretty funny too. So at the grocery store today, I asked Selah not to put the heavy stuff on top of the bread only to find out that it wasn't her, it was Stephanie and her mom who did it. Then tonight while eating her salad, I was informed, by Stephanie's mom, that she and Stephanie were feeding Selah. If I just respond to Selah, she tells me that it wasn't her talking and expects me to speak the appropriate hand. I'm hoping that maybe I'll be able to teach her the concept of left and right by using Stephanie and her mom. By the way, everyone has a mom...all the stuffed animals have to have a mom, any imaginary being has to have a mom too. If there are two pieces of food, one is the mommy. If there are two scribbles on a piece of paper, one is the mommy. ETC. Funny girl.

haha, that's hilarious. Does it make you wonder if you should encourage it or not? Or do you not really care either way? I don't think I had any imaginary friends growing up. It is interesting that each of them has to have a mom though.

Kids do the funniest things..life would be pretty boring if we didn't have kids! Ally pretends like that at times.
I'll let you know about this weekend. My life will calm down on Sunday. Dave's parents are now here and they leave on Sun. After that no more visitors. We would love to do a bbq sometime that sounds good!

It doesn't bother me at all, I had imaginary friends and so did one of my younger brothers, we're both pretty normal as far as I can tell. :) I wrote about mine in a previous post, I think I might write about my brother's it's funny too. I'm going to post a video of Selah introducing her hands.

I wonder if she will start naming other body parts...this could get even weirder!

That is hilarious! She is such a little granny already. You must truly be entertained all the time. That imagination! I have a feeling, the funny moments are going to keep on coming.
