So... it's one of the greatest days of the year! We're staying home today, Travis and Malorie drove into town last night and we'll have some old friends from Albuquerque staying with us for the weekend as well. I'm excited to play some good ol' football this morning and then to eat turkey and turkey... very excited! However, I do in fact realize that Thanksgiving is... just that... giving thanks. So, I'd like to share a few things that I am thankful for, and maybe even why I'm thankful for them. It always feels good to be thankful. Here we go...
I'm thankful for football and turkey... okay now that that's out of the way...
My Father in Heaven and His endless knowledge. It makes life so much more meaningful to know that I can always, at any moment, turn to someone that knows me far
better than I know myself. I can ask anything of Him, and if it's in line with what He knows is best for me, He puts things in motion and allows me to find the resources to succeed.

Jesus Christ and His perfect life and example. His role while on Earth was to live perfectly, teach perfectly and then to offer Himself as a sacrife that would allow me to overcome my shortcomings in this life through repentance. He is our Advocate with the Father because He knows what we're going through. He suffered every pain, affliction, sickness and temptation that everyone on Earth has ever suffered, so that He would know how to assist and relieve us, not just when we think we need it, but always.
The Gift of the Holy Ghost. God's way of communicating with me to warn and protect me from harm, physical or spiritual, is through the Holy Ghost. He is also the means by which I am able to know something is true and sent from God. I have found through the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon and Bible are true, that Godon B. Hinckley is a prophet, that Joseph Smith saw the Father and Son and restored the truth to the earth... all things that I am thankful for.
Jessica. Jes and I have never been able to actually pinpoint the moment that we started dating because it happened so naturally that we were all of a sudden married and that was that. Thanksgiving has been extra meaningful to me since 2003 because that's when I knew that our
relationship was actually going somewhere. Jessica is my constant support. I know of her love because I can feel it and see it in so many ways. She is a wonderful wife and an amazing mother.

Selah. My first kiddo is so fun and weird. If I had turned out to be a little girl, I would imagine that I would be something like her... at least that's how I would choose to be if I was a little girl. She is such a good kid and keeps me smiling everyday. I can't imagine not having such a wonderful little person with me day after day.
There are so many other things that I'm thankful for, big and small. I'm so thankful for everything in my life because each thing is a part of who I am. I don't like certain parts of me sometimes, but I'm able to learn from those things and hopefully develop into who my Heavenly Father has intended for me to become. I love you all and wish you an amazing Thanksgiving day every day!
