Family Outing - Bellagio

Our favorite place to go on Las Vegas Blvd. is the Bellagio Botanical Garden. Thanks to our friend Lisa's post about going there a few weeks ago, we decided to check it out. We had some extra time a couple Saturdays ago, so we grabbed the camera and jumped in the car. It was really fun, but sadly, we weren't the most photogenic bunch that day. I'm sharing the pictures anyway, feel free to laugh a little at us. These are the better pictures.

There were trains going through every part of the display, it was really neat, both of the kids liked to watch them.

After the Bellagio, we walked over to the Flamingo. This is quite an ordeal when you're pushing a stroller by the way. For those who don't know, there are elevated crosswalks with escalators (and elevators) on each side. So we walked through the Bellagio past all the shops, out the doors and accross the street, then we go down in the elevator walk north a little, get into another elevator, go up, cross the street, into another elevator, go down, manuever through the casino to the wildlife area at the Flamingo. We checked out a few birds, turtles, and fish. Here I am with Hyrum in front of the flamingos. It was bright. Then it was time to head back to the car. We reversed the process of travel with all the stuffy elevators and crosswalks, Jared and I took turns with grumpy kids, diapers, and a bottle, and eventually made it home. It was actually really fun, just a little crazy as we were trying to leave. One sad thing was Hyrum's terrified cries after seeing a dwarf, at least that's why we think he got scared. I'm sure being tired and hungry contributed to the over-reaction.
So my advice about bring kids to the strip: avoid the stroller if at all possible. If you must bring a stroller, try to stay on one side of the street. And remember, weekdays are better than weekends. I think we will bring a baby carrier next time, and have Selah walk or ride on shoulders if we plan to do much walking around.

You guys are brave to attempt the strip with kids. It is insane down there. Kudos to you for making it a fun day for the kids. I'm sure they had a blast. Hyrum is getting so big and chunky, this age is so fun. I like the new page layout too.
