On Saturday Nov 22nd we went to Mt. Charleston for a little picnic. We thought about hiking too, but ended up going only about a quarter mile to our picnic spot. It was a bit colder than we were prepared for. Hy didn't have a hat, so we improvised with a t-shirt from the diaper bag, as you can see, it turned int more of a scarf. We had fun, but don't let these pictures fool you, Selah was miserably cold, or at least she thought she was. We sat there shivering, trying to keep the kids warm while we ate our lunch. Selah was complaining about how cold she was with a not so happy look on her face, but we somehow got her to smile for a few picture. It was a nice little place with a paved "trail," I don't know if you can call it a trail if it's paved. On the way, we passed a very small frozen pond and a few frozen puddles. It snowed up there the next weekend. We didn't realize that it was THAT much colder up there and thought our sweatshirts that had not seen light since last February would have been enough to keep us warm.

How fun! We went up there in July. It was a nice break from the heat. Isn't it surprising that there is such a huge temperature difference up there?
